NRI FAMILY TOOL

Could your family manage if you couldn't act for a few days?

Answer 9 simple questions. No phone number is needed. You will get one practical checklist at the end — not a generic result after every click.

Question 1 of 9
QUESTION 1

If you could not travel to India for 30 days, could your parents handle an urgent financial matter?

Think about banking, property, insurance, loan payments or an urgent document request.

QUESTION 2

Does your family know where your important India-side financial relationships are held?

They do not need passwords. They should know which banks, investments, insurers and lenders exist.

QUESTION 3

Have nominations actually been checked across bank accounts, deposits, mutual funds, demat and insurance?

QUESTION 4

If something happened to you abroad, would your parents know whom to contact first?

Bank/RM, insurer, CA, lawyer, employer or a trusted family contact.

QUESTION 5

If a parent in India had a medical emergency tonight, could money and documents be arranged quickly?

QUESTION 6

Where authority is genuinely needed, is the right arrangement documented?

For example a permitted bank mandate, joint-holder arrangement or Power of Attorney — not informal password sharing.

QUESTION 7

Can your family locate property, insurance, loan and investment documents without searching through your phone?

QUESTION 8

Are your NRI status, KYC, address and FATCA/CRS details reasonably up to date?

QUESTION 9

Do your parents know what needs immediate action and what can safely wait?

Good continuity is not about giving family unlimited access. It is about avoiding panic and unnecessary action.

Important:
This check identifies practical family-readiness gaps. It does not decide legal ownership, tax liability, succession rights or whether a specific Power of Attorney is valid for a particular transaction.

Still unsure about one of these gaps?

You can discuss only the unresolved point. You do not need to repeat the entire checklist.
